- Laurine Delforge FieldHockey Umpire
- John Higgins Basketball Referee
- Harry Shearer Simpson’s Softball Umpire Voice
This week was a special one at the Baseball Hall of Fame. An episode of The Simpson’s called ‘Homer at the Bat’ became the first TV episode to ever be honoured with an induction into the Hall of Fame. The ground breaking episode aired on February 20, 1992 and has since become a cultural phenomenon. When I saw this story in the 101 search feeds, I thought it would be fun to find out who the umpire was in the big game. The umpire character has no name in the episode but the voice credit is given to Harry Shearer, who is also the voice of Lenny Leonard. This post is so unique that it just had to get 3rd Star for the week.
